How to make more Christmas sales: Share your creative journey
In the run up to Christmas things get very noisy on social media. You really have to fight for attention and need to create content that’s going to stand out and attract customers.
One of the most effective ways to do this is to tell the story of your brand and take us on your creative journey.
People get really invested in this stuff. It makes them feel involved. They feel valued and part of the process. They'll understand the work and passion that has gone into your finished product. They will remember you and want to support you and buy from you.
You may already be doing this throughout the year but at Christmas it's more than ok to crank it up a notch.
Here are my content suggestions to help you do this:
Tell us about your making process from idea to finished product. Share your sketches, mood boards and mind maps.
How long does this process take? Do you have a system or routine?
Do you make testers or samples? Do you ask for your audiences opinion? (I hope so).
Show us around your workspace – we want to see the creative process in all its messy glory!
Share when things go wrong. We want to see the mishaps. This makes you so much more human and relatable.
Where do you draw your inspirations from? How have they influenced your latest collection or products?
Where and how do you source your materials?
What about your packaging? Do you go that extra mile? Is there a thank you card in there or a little surprise? Is your packaging recyclable?
How do you style things up? Create flat lays or show us around your shop display.
Are you collabing with other small businesses or doing a Christmas market? Take us with you and show us what happens BTS.
It’s never too late to start creating and posting this type of content. You can do this in post, Reel or Story form.
